Tong Grabs are well suited for a wide range of below-the-hook material handling applications: plate, slab, block and ingot. The Tong mechanism uses either friction and/or a physical feature (edge, corner, rim, etc.) to secure the load. Depending on the material to be lifted, the Tong Grab may grip the load using a pointed indenter, serrated jaws, polymer / rubber lined pads or other appropriate contactor.
